I'm a pretty decent writer. Do I really need an editor?

We get it. Editing is an investment, so it's easy to question whether or not you can afford it. But the real question is can you afford not to have your work professionally edited? Look, you probably have plenty of options when it comes to "editing." The built-in grammar and spell-checkers in your apps, friends, maybe a few family members. While they might catch some errors (or introduce new ones, we're looking at you, Microsoft Word), are they trained in the art of editing? Do they have years of experience poring over written works and polishing them to perfection? Are they as passionate about your prose as you are?

We are friendly, but we're not your friends. This means we're not afraid to be 100% honest with you as we revise your work or point out potential pitfalls. Our goals are the same: to ensure you look and sound like the professional writer you are.

So if you think you can edit your own work or find a more affordable option, feel free. We won't blame you. But if you're ready to hire professionals to clarify your copy, ensuring it flows while remaining consistent and concise, then contact us today and we'll get to work.

All right. I placed an order. When do you begin?

Perfect. You're on the right track! So, before we can begin we need to do two things. One, we need to analyze your writing. As your editors, it's vital for us to understand the context of your work so we can better determine which of our services you need most: Proofreading, Copy Editing, Deep Editing or Dialogue Design. Once we've arrived on your editing needs, we'll send you a proposal and invoice, and determine an editing schedule based off of our availability and your deadline goals. (We do require 50% payment upfront before we can begin work, with the other 50% paid upon project completion.)

Can you edit anything?
Humbly speaking, yes. We can and will improve the clarity of virtually any content. But there are some things we are currently not editing. These include (but are not limited to) ESL papers, Research, Government and Medical papers, Erotica and Occult Horror. (Regular creature-feature, suspense or adventure stories? We're all in.)
Are there specialties you're exceptionally good at?
Absolutely! And those specialties are what we're passionate about editing, to be honest. When it comes to works of fiction, we love touching up the dialogue between characters, enhancing action scenes, tightening the tone and voice and ensuring your work resonates with readers emotionally. As for non-fiction, we specialize in clarity, formatting, paragraph polishing and, like in fiction, making sure your final product has the emotional impact you're intending.
How do I know I can trust you with my work?
If you mean confidentiality, we're all in. Your work begins and ends with you, and regardless of how much we may bring to the table with our edits, we lay no claim on it and will not receive any royalties, co-authorship or even acknowledgment (unless you decide to thank us officially). Want us to sign a non-disclosure agreement? Can do.
The second part of trusting us relies on the fact that we are professional editors. We have extensive editing experience and are accustomed to working with authors of all flavors, from fledgling beginners to full-time professionals. We pledge to do everything in our editing power to help you achieve your writing goals, regardless of where you're starting from. We also offer you peace of mind, knowing we'll gladly review and proofread any minor changes or edits you make to your work as a result of our advice, suggestions or feedback.
